PayShare for Stripe

Install PayShare from the Stripe App Marketplace and add a group payment option beside your existing Pay now.

How PayShare works with Stripe

PayShare is a Stripe App. You install it from the Stripe App Marketplace on the Stripe account that receives your payments. Stripe tells PayShare which account installed it, so there is nothing to copy or paste.

  • Your checkout keeps Pay now. PayShare adds Split with others beside it.
  • Each person’s share is a Stripe Checkout payment on your Stripe account. Guests can pay by card or Link. Apple Pay and Google Pay appear where Stripe offers them for cards.
  • Shares are authorised first and captured together when the whole order is covered. If the group does not finish in time, the authorised shares are released and nobody is charged.
  • Payouts, disputes and reporting stay in your Stripe Dashboard.
  • PayShare’s fee is a Stripe application fee on completed splits. See pricing.

You do not need a separate PayShare account. Your Stripe secret key stays on your server and is never entered into PayShare.

Who controls the checkout?

This decides which guide you follow. PayShare asks the same question when you open the app in Stripe.
