Testing

Check the connection, a full group payment, and that an unfinished session does not complete the order.

Minimum integration test

  • Signed verify returns verified: true, then you confirm setup in PayShare.
  • Redeem returns CONNECTED for a test merchant on the Stripe account you charge.
  • property_status with enabled: true returns ACTIVE. connection_status stays connected after a refresh.
  • Split with others appears only for that property, and only while enabled is true.
  • Starting a split creates the session on that merchant’s Stripe account.
  • More than one participant can join and pay with Stripe test cards.
  • The booking completes only when succeeded shares cover the order total.
  • An unfinished or failed session does not complete the booking.
  • The browser return to successReturnUrl does not mark the booking paid.

Walk through it

  1. Install PayShare in test mode on your platform’s Stripe account and register your platform

  2. Copy your platform ID and key, and send the signed verify request from your test server

  3. Confirm setup in PayShare

  4. Use a test merchant Stripe account your platform can charge

Install PayShare on it in test mode.

  5. Choose “A platform manages my checkout” and pick your platform

  6. Enter the Stripe account and connection code in your test property’s PayShare setting

  7. Select Connect, then turn PayShare on

redeem should return CONNECTED, then property_status should return ACTIVE.

  8. Place a test booking and split it

Pay the shares with Stripe test cards.

Failure cases to try

  • Redeem an expired code, and a code already used for a different property.
  • Send the same request ID twice. The second request must fail.
  • Send a timestamp more than 5 minutes old.
  • Turn PayShare off and check the button disappears and splits return WEBSITE_SETUP_REQUIRED.
  • Uninstall PayShare from the test merchant and check connection_status returns connected: false.

Merchant-side testing, including test cards, is in merchant testing.

Before going live

  • The live platform key is on the production server only. A rotated key has been verified again.
  • Confirm setup is done in the live PayShare app, so merchants can find your platform.
  • The button stays hidden until connection_status returns enabled: true.
  • Orders are completed from Stripe, not from the browser return.
  • You know how a refund is issued: the merchant in PayShare, or your server with refundToken.
